In January, 2014, URDC began a pilot project with Habitat for Humanity.  Germantown seniors and low and moderate-income families who have had or are having home repairs done by URDC now have an opportunity to participate in a weatherization program offered by Habitat.  Once URDC has completed the work, Habitat will do an extensive energy audit and provide trained staff and volunteers to weatherize the home.  After completion, Habitat will monitor the utility bills for one year to determine the amount of money the homeowner is saving.
