OORP Accomplishments
Mr. WH had structural problems with a load bearing wall requiring $8,500 in repairs. He was unable to afford the repair on his fixed income and asked URDC for help. URDC arranged for a $5,500 low interest loan from National Penn Bank and provided a grant of $3,000.

Ms. SD is a widow on Social Security and required a new roof as well as interior kitchen repairs for water damage resulting from the prior leaking roof. The total cost for these repairs was $6,200. URDC developed a financial package which included a $4,000 low interest loan from National Penn Bank, a URDC grant of $2,000, and a gift from a URDC Board member of $200.

Mrs. JF was on a fixed income and the primary caregiver for her ill mother. She had been on a waiting list with the city for over two years for repairs to a roof that had also caused severe damage to the ceiling, walls, and floor in the bedrooms of her children. She applied for and received funding from URDC, and URDC contractors, within ten weeks of her application, had repaired the roof, sheet-rocked the ceiling and walls, and replaced a rotted floor. In the summer, a group of volunteers from a local church completed the project by painting the bedrooms and bathroom.
